Registration for the 2018 Academic Challenge year is open!
Eligibility to Compete
All public and private schools offering courses for 9th-12th grades or any grade within this range are eligible to compete. In addition, children who are homeschooled are eligible to compete as individuals in the division of their local public school, or as members of a local school team if this is agreeable to the school.
Divisions of Competition
There are four divisions of competition (based on enrollment from IHSA: https://www.ihsa.org/Schools/EnrollmentsClassifications/AlphabeticalEnrollments.aspx ):
Division 300 – Enrollment equal to or less than 300
Division 700 – Enrollment from 301 through 700
Division 1500 – Enrollment from 701 through 1500
Division Unlimited – Enrollment greater than 1500

Regional Competition Window: February 1 – February 16, 2018
Sectional Competition Window: March 1-16, 2018
Illinois State Finals Competition: April 16-19, 2018
(State Finals are tentatively scheduled at the I-Hotel and Conference Center)
Monday, April 16 – Division 1500
Tuesday, April 17 – Division Unlimited
Wednesday, April 18 – Division 300
Thursday, April 19 – Division 700
**’Friday, April 13 will be an alternate test date for emergency conflicts only. Please note your spring break dates. This will be an abbreviated day with no awards ceremony. If you are not able to make your designated division date, please contact the WYSE office at email@example.com.

When to Register
1. Schools/At-Large Competitors will need to register for Regionals. Registration is NOT required for Sectionals or State.
The Registration Deadline for the Regional Competition is December 31, 2017.
2. State Registration is not required this year for Schools/At-Large competitors that have advanced to State. If you are unable to attend State, please notify us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When to Pay
Payment is required prior to the Regionals competition. No payment will be required for Sectionals or State.

If you are mailing a check, please include the following, so we can easily identify your payment with your school:
- your name
- your school name
- number of all team members including JV or At-Large
Payment must be received by WYSE no later than January 15, 2018. If a school attends a competition without having paid the fee, all results for the school will be invalidated.
